She has done this vital work for parents! Thank you, Paula."

- Britt Raposo - Mom and Founder of CalgaryMoms.com
“This book would have helped me on my first maternity leave, especially as it is time consuming to hunt and peck your way through the first year and gather all the information by chance. Excellent book, I will give many as gifts to new moms!”
- Jennifer N. – Mom
“This book is as pertinent and useful for parents of multiples or parents whose new baby is not their first as it is for brand new parents.”

“I found the first edition of the book extremely useful, and discovered the second edition is even more comprehensive. As a working mom, it’s great to have all this help at my fingertips. As a new mom, it was a huge relief to have help from mom’s who’d already been through it all.”

I wish that this book would have been available before baby #1 but I am happy I was able to read it before baby #2. I am surprised by how many activities and resources are available in Calgary that I didn’t know about through word of mouth.
– Angela A., Mom
Matt and I are dumb, so you can imagine how many questions we have as first-time parents. All the answers are in this book, as well as plenty of things to do with your child when your wife walks out the door and says 'You're on your own!'. For us, it was a life-saver, a must-have guide for all Calgary moms and dads.
– Matt & Eric, JACK FM Morning Show Hosts
Very comprehensive. Great resource!
– Dr. Sonya Lee MD, Family Practitioner
A well organized survival guide to any new mom in Calgary. Filled with good information to guide you through the first year. This book is like having your girlfriend around 24 hours a day for advice.
– Dr. Fiona Mattatall MD, FRCSC, Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
A well organized and useful resource – handy for any new parent to read and reference.
– Dave D., Dad
This book is a valuable collection of information for new parents, which would be very time-consuming to assemble themselves. It provides suggestions for programs for baby, parents, and the family as well as how to incorporate your new family into some favourite activities.
– Kelli W., Mom
Oh my gosh!!! I found your book in [Sproutz Kidz] today, and all I can say is THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!
I have a little boy who will be 2 very shortly. My husband and I attended almost every baby class that the Calgary Health Region offered before his birth, and while they were very useful in my preparation for birth and the first few days of his life, I found the classes did very little in terms of preparing me for my new role as a parent.
After a very stressful, trying few months, I was diagnosed with Post Partum Depression. Even after my diagnosis, it took me months to get connected with the services I needed. I remember staring at the pages and pages of phone numbers in the back of the "From Here to Maternity" book, crying, because I couldn't figure out who to call to get help. There were no descriptions as to the services provided by the many organizations listed.
When I filled in my comment sheet at the back of the book, I specifically mentioned that I needed a book for the first years of my child's life. Your book is comprehensive and easy to use. It would have saved me and my family much heartache during that rough period.
Once I felt better, I struggled with how to entertain my little one. If I had had your book then, I would have had a list of options at my fingertips.
I can't tell you how happy I am to have run into your book. I plan to give a copy of it to EVERY expecting woman I know. I hope you'll consider writing the "toddler" version next, and hopefully soon!
– Pam D., Mom
